Production studio wanted it so that Liam Neeson's filming scenes were filmed in America, but due to the movie background, he had requested it had to be filmed in South Korea.
This is the first American-South Korean co-production to concern the Korean War since Inchon (1981), which covered the same subject matter.
The English title "Operation Chromite" was the real-life code-name of the operation.
North Korea has described the film as "ridiculous bravado from ignorant lunatics."
The film takes place in September 1950.
