Managed to get half way through - and simply could not carry on. The story is slow, the acting below par.
This isn't even close to being 10/10. Even my Irish partner couldn't stomach it.
Give it a miss and save yourself the agony.

Extremely slow. Really bad acting. Couldn't watch whole film through, it was that wooden, and unfunny. All the other reviews must've been written by friends and family, bless. I LOVE a good Irish comedy / tale... sadly, this is not it.

This is a charming Irish comedy where a couple, in the furtherance of love, commit a heist with their friends. Everything that can go wrong, does. Along their pathway of crime, they meet delightful characters and encounter challenging roadblocks. For those of you from my vintage, it's like Inspector Clouseau from the crooks' standpoint. You won't go wrong by watching this film!

If you like quaint Irish tales with corresponding comedic innocence, this film captures it!
Owen Dara and Jessica Lancaster steal it with their chemistry and charm! You must give it a go!
Laughed out loud more than once (and I'm neither a friend nor family member of any of the cast). You need to have lived a little bit and experienced the "slow times" in life to appreciate the accuracy and humor. Will look for more from Owen Dara in the future.

I loved The Holy Fail. So funny. And so many great characters. Love the leads. Love the cops. Love the nuns. I've seen it three times with different friends. It never gets old. Loved it.

Give it a minute to get into - this is not a big studio film. Once you are in it YOU ARE IN IT! Great writing and fun lovable characters.

Owen Dara's "Holy Fail" is the latest in a long tradition of hilarious, thought provoking and thoughtful Gaelic comedies, reminiscent of previous entries in this category: "Finding Ned Devine", "Coming up Roses" and "The Full Monty", Dara takes us on a comedic excursion that follows the least traveled logical road into the illogical world of the Irish comic mind. With his lovely partner, Jessica Lancaster, Dara has created an opus well worth the accolades of international cinematic award givers. We watch as this lovely, hard working couple try to bring back the lost romance of their marriage by embarking on an adventure that includes multiple attempts at duping the Irish Garda and the outright theft of an illicit stash of old Irish Pounds and the newer Euro. The delightfully flawed logic of this scheme is that they aren't caught by the long arm of the awful law, but by a group of nuns! At the end, all is well, the marriage is saved, and we return to reality thankful that creative, Irish comedy is a part of our universe!
Such a sweet, adorable, fun and clever Indie film! It sure is wonderful to have this wonderful film available to a wide audience!
I got several real belly laughs at this warm and funny film. Down to earth and full of surprises, I would watch it again!

A funny and romantic movie set is beautiful Cork Ireland about a husband makes a desperate attempt to bring back the spark in his marriage. The plan to burglarize the office of one of his friends might be just the ticket! However everything that could go wrong does. The result is a quirkily funny, slightly slapstick, romantic adventure, with a little bit of wrath from a nun with plenty of moxie thrown in for good measure. Loved it!

When the initial excitement of marriage wears off what can one do to reinvigorate it? Why not plan a robbery? Thats what newlyweds Nicole and Brendan decide to do. What could possibly go wrong? This is a fine independent film you'll want to enjoy over and over. Just be ready for some crazy plot twists along the way!
