    Walk the Swine

This episode pretty much sums up for me the issues with this show.

We have a good plot with Piggy. We have a character who the audience love, who is acting in a way that we have come to expect her to act. Unlike with Ed Helms the week before, here we have a guest star involved who adds to the plot and it feels like it links in with this whole 'behind the scenes' vibe that has been set up. Reese Witherspoon knows her way around a joke, she shows that here.

What doesn't work quite so well is the plot involving Fozzie. First of all, the sexual nature of some of his jokes feel out of place (tone has always been a problem with this show right from the off) and some of the things he does/says are just cruel. That's never been the character.

This show isn't a mess, it just doesn't know what it is and what it wants to be.

    • Trivia
Never short of guest stars from its humble beginnings, Reese Witherspoon is the first Oscar-winning celebrity to appear in "The Muppets". The original Muppet Show (1976-1981) featured several Oscar-winning guests including Joel Grey, Rita Moreno, Julie Andrews, George Burns, Liza Minnelli, Alan Arkin, James Coburn, and Glenda Jackson.

Kermit the Frog: Listen, Piggy, will you please not try to build a house with Reese? You're doing this for all the wrong reasons.

Miss Piggy: I'm doing this to show up Reese in front of the press.

      Kermit the Frog: But that's...

      Miss Piggy: A perfect reason.

      Kermit the Frog: No, it's...

Miss Piggy: A PERFECT REASON! Say it!

      Kermit the Frog: Absolutely not!
