Duran Duran: Sing Blue Silver (1984)

Trivia

Duran Duran: Sing Blue Silver

Edit
This tour was at the height of the band's fame in North America and the teenage girls were especially hysterical near the band. In one scene while a limousine drives in the middle of an ecstatic crowd, drummer Roger Taylor is caught weeping in the vehicle. It was later revealed that the star status was too overwhelming for him and that he did not fancy such attention. Just over a year later, as the band was on hiatus to work on other projects, he purchased a farm estate in the hills of Gloucestershire to live a quiet life away from the music world, He returned to Duran Duran in 1994.
Filming reportedly started from January 30 and resumed April 27, 1984 across the U.S. and Canada, Though the tour's name is a reference to "The Chauffeur" on the smash album "Rio" (1982), the band toured to promote their third album "Seven and the Ragged Tiger". This was Duran Duran's last album with the original lineup until 2004's "Astronaut".
"Sing Blue Silver" is a lyric in the chorus of the hit melodic song "The Chauffeur", from the hit album "Rio" (1982)..
Footage from this 1983-84 tour movie appear in the 2019 documentary Duran Duran: Something You Should Know, by Zoe Dobson.
This World tour sparked a live album, 1984's "Arena". Among the cuts pressed on that album are "New Religion" (recorded February 9 at The L.A. Forum) and "Cracks in the Pavement", taped on March 5 at Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto. Footage from that concert's performance of "The Reflex" was to become the official video. It was the band's most successful single, topping charts worldwide.
