In Game of Thrones, Joseph Mawle (Odysseus) plays Benjen Stark, brother of Ned Stark (Sean Bean). Sean Bean played Odysseus in the movie Troy.
The series gained controversy for the casting of Black actors Hakeem Kae-Kazim and David Gyasi in the respective roles of Zeus and Achilles; Kae-Kazeem hit back at this, claiming the BBC was not "blackwashing" the series.
None of the actors are of Greek or Turkish descent. The majority of the cast is British, with the exception of Bella Dayne, who is German and Jonathan Pienaar, who is South African.
