A scene was shot that revealed the other side of the letter contained a letter Rachel wrote to Simon apologizing for the choice she made and saying goodbye to him. Director Nathan Mullally chose not to include this in the final cut as he believed it took away from the ending sequence and would have made it too melodramatic and dark.
