The trailer of the upcoming Randeep Hooda-starrer ‘Swatantrya Veer Savarkar’ is set to be unveiled on Monday. The film marks the directorial debut of Randeep, who is known for films such as ‘Highway’, ‘Extraction’, ‘Kick’ and ‘Sarbjit’.

The trailer of the film will be unveiled at a multiplex in the Juhu area of Mumbai.

The makers of Abhay Verma and Meera Chopra-starrer ‘Safed’ unveiled the teaser of the social drama on Thursday.

It showcases the victims of social oppression, and how the lead duo find solace, and redemption in each other, melting away their lonely existence.

Abhay, who is known for his work in ‘The Family Man’ and ‘Uljhe Hue’ is seen as ‘Chaandi’, while Meera Chopra, who has appeared in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi films, and is known for projects like ‘Bangaram’, ‘Lee’, ‘Vaana’, ‘1920 London’ and ‘Section 375’ among others, is portraying the character of ‘Kaali’.

Exclusive: The life of the world’s oldest marathon runner, Fauja Singh, will be the subject of a biopic from a trio of established Indian creatives.

Omung Kumar B is directing the project, titled Fauja, and will produce alongside Kunal Shivdasani of Aleya Motion Magic, whose credits include the 2008 thriller Hijack, and Raaj Shaandilya, who previously wrote Bhoomi for Kumar B and also wrote and directed the 2019 Hindi comedy Dream Girl.

Fauja will chronicle how 108-year-old Fauja Singh, better known as the ‘Sikh Superman’, stunned the world by shattering a number of records in multiple age brackets as a marathon runner. Singh has completed the London marathon six times after making his debut there in 2000 at the age of 89, and has since finished marathons in Toronto, New York and more cities.

The screenplay is being adapted from the book Turbaned Tornado written by Khushwant Singh and published by Rupa Publications.

According to a source in the know, Randeep will be a part of Nair's eight-episode adaptation of Vikram Seth's "A Suitable Boy".

After proving his mettle yet again and garnering high acclaim for the biopic ‘Sarbjit’, Randeep Hooda is now gearing to go into battle with a period action-drama based on the historic battle of Saragarhi. Randeep will portray the role of Havlidar Ishar Singh, the military commander of the 36th Sikhs, today known as the fourth Battalion of the Sikh Regiment. The film is being helmed by writer-director Rajkumar Santoshi, who cast the actor after watching his performance in ‘Sarbjit’ as the filmmaker believes only Randeep can do justice to the part.

Randeep is known for his effortless blending into any role that he takes up, bringing about real characters to life on reel with much aplomb. And he is now set to do the same for his sixth biopic ‘Saragarhi’ as he will undergo strenuous preparations for his role as the Sikh soldier.

Hollywood actress Demi Moore, best known for her roles in Ghost and Striptease, will also star in a special role. The film will be extensively shot in L.A and in Hong Kong. It is produced by David Womark, who has also produced Oscar nominated movie Life of Pi. Meanwhile, Richa Chadha will be seen in a new avatar in Pooja Bhatt's Cabaret.
