    Clever idea, poor execution

I love the concept and the premises the film puts forward, but it's not very good. The flow of the narrative, the clips, none of it works, the whole film feels like a college PowerPoint presentation. Probably best left for history nuts

Its fun but its not legit.

I fall for a lot of these entertainment style documentaries. Where they aren't exactly unbiased objective informational things but often for purpose nonsense.

The premise is simple all it asks is for the viewer to buy into devaluing the past and history and changing the way you see it.

Now i found the "reasoning" or presented logic to be some of the flimsiest available in the open markets today.

Still it was fun if brief and not well approached at all like any good thin premise with little rational behind it.

If one looks too closely or in too much detail such things drift away like mere smoke on a soft breeze.

The documentary doesn't even examine its own flimsy premise to understand that such small group portrayals in a highly fictional setting were no different than functional yet still theoretical marxism as a functional premise for a larger long term society.

Sounds like the usual strange revisionism and rewriting reframing history movement that seems so wildly popular or at least well funded today.

To me the oddest thing is overthinking the premise at all to come to such a conclusion yet being incapable of extending that to the documentaries own presentation as being anything but overthought or at all well done.

Beyond making square pegs fit in round holes. Just nonsense!

A completely ridiculous premise. Not even close to remote validity!

The author(s) use circular logic, non sequitur snippets from episodes, and additional irrelevant voiceovers and news videos trying to make their case, which scrambles your brain if you try to follow along to make sense of it! lol

Even interviews with some of the cast gave no support to the thesis, but was ridiculously and amateurishly presented to make you think so.

The only enjoyable part of this show was watching the videos of simple, silly fun this show was - seven friends and their adventures.

A very clever look into a 60's screwball comedy

Gilligan's Island was once a massively popular television program way back in 1960's America. At the time it was viewed as a silly screwball comedy.

But according to this documentary the subliminal message throughout the series is that 'in order to survive' a communal (communist ideals) society must be paramount.

If you bother to watch this docu I believe you will find it difficult to argue with the writer/directors (Cevin Soling) insight into the foundation of this show. He makes his point clear considering the clash of The Cold War between the US and USSR.

Most viewers will find it preposterous. But those who bother to read history will find it meaningful and entertaining.
