Actor Olli Saarenpää was practicing horse riding couple of days before his scenes. Olli didn't have much horse riding experience before this movie.
Ari Karhunen's "Torko" character's name is actually a tribute to "Torgo", a character from cult-movie "Manos: The Hands of Fate" (1966).
Originally Jari Manninen's role (Father Aatami) was a lot smaller. Luckily there was a change of schedules and Jari was able to do a lot bigger role.
A lot of shaman and lake scenes were filmed in: Saarijärven Kivikauden kylä (Saarijärvi's Stone Age village). The place created a great environment to some characters, specially to Aslak Karsten's Shaman character.
There was a lot of different filming locations in Saarijärvi town. Some of the forest locations were in very tricky places and that is why some of the crew members got lost couple of times.
