Alain Moussi plays the role of Charlie Nash, who, in Street Fighter lore, is said to be the best friend of Guile. Guile's last live action appearance was in the 1994 live action film, played by Jean-Claude Van Damme. Both Van Damme and Moussi have played the character Kurt Sloane in Kickboxer (1989), Kickboxer: Vengeance (2016) and Kickboxer: Retaliation (2018), respectively. Also, they both co-star in Kickboxer: Vengeance (2016) and Kickboxer: Retaliation (2018) (albeit with Van Damme playing a different character.)

Serves as a tied in to the video game Street Fighter V (2016).

This series marks the first time Ryu's actor has reprised the role of Ryu.
