Wonderful

This is a wonderful film that will leave you feeling GREAT all over. Dan Steadman is a master at creating epic works of art. Dan has made five films in the Midwest and this is by far my favorite. The way he writes is so clever, witty, and free. He creates characters that you feel you know. You will become emotionally invested in these people (in a good way). The lead, Ella, is someone that many women across the world can relate to. And we cannot forget about Naomi, the hard to handle mother, who certainly means well and loves deeply. These two leading ladies will blow you away with their stellar performances. The entire cast is phenomenal and this is a movie that you will want to watch again and again.

Adam Wainwright in a movie???

I love Cardinals baseball so I was intrigued to see Adam Wainwright's first acting role -- holy cow, he was funny! But this movie is so more more than that. It's a fetching look at a modern woman who is open to love but doesn't "need" to be in a relationship. How refreshing in a romantic comedy. It's a bit of a love triangle, but in a great new way. The view of the lake was beautiful -- wherever it was shot. Looks like a great place to spend summers. And I would to have Ella as a best friend.

Movie-making in the MidWest sometimes gets a bad wrap due to the perception that this part of the U.S. lacks what big cities like LA or New York offer . . . but it's a misconception . . . and Proximity is a true example of beautiful cinematography (Brett Frager), creative writing and directing (Dan Steadman), and talented actors. For local St. Louisans, you'll see some familiar news and radio personalities like Dan Gray, Kelly Jackson, Julie Tristan and even Cardinals player Adam Wainwright who brings the audience to laughter at every showing. The film is also an example of community working together to tell a story about making choices in love - something we can all relate to!
