The plot makes no sense at all... The movie has some high quality shots but is totally ruined by the bad acting and plot. Total waste of time
Why waste a movie(pointless story/script) in such beautiful locations of Nepal...misleading too
Worst among the worst. The over exposed beach shots and all those low key shots were rubbish. I think the cinematographer was an intern guy who was not paid. Good to see few famous actors but why do they even think of acting in such stupid movies. Anna's performance was bad and seemed like she did not know where the story is heading. Worst presentation, Worst performance.
Very very bad movie.. For me worst Nepali movie I've watched till date..
I understand that "The Man from Kathmandu" was highly advertised in it's country of origin but that the audience there was not particularly fond of it. Of course, Nepal is very much about tourism and people there seem to worry that by showing street thugs and corrupt policemen and politicians tourists might be scared of. So let's talk about that first. It' only a movie and its not highly violent or scary, at least not for international standards. I'v been to Nepal two years ago (to Kathmandu and the south of the country) and nothing I've seeen in this movie would stop me from going there again.
I had an entirely different problem. The plot of "The Man from Kathmandu" is highly confusing. I wonder, if the version I've seen might be a shortended International Version (it had a runtime of 91 minutes). Many times you have to guesss who is who or why protagonists are doing this or that. The story is quite incoherent. Technically the film is okay, nothing wrong with camareaworkl lightning, acting etc.
So back to the worries of the Nepalese. I found it quiet nice to see so many locations in the film I've seen myself while being in Nepal. About the street thugs...it's only a movie. And internationally violence standards in movies are very different from Nepal or India. The scene where Anna gets molested by the thugs is hardly recognizable as sexual harassment by International movie standards.
"The man from Kathmandu" was the first Nepalese movie I've ever seen. For that I thought it was very interesting, also for it's locations. But you really need to work on your storylines, guys.
