Sean Kinney and Steve Barrons in Call for Fire (2018)

A tragic Shakespearean comedy for the modern war. Rosencrantz and Guildenstern from Hamlet were modernized and put into actual scenarios of the current war on terror, all while keeping the original black comedy and philosophical essence of the characters. We took Special Operations wounded warriors and trained them to make a film. Since the military does not give long vacations, we planned it like a mission, & filmed it entirety in one week using iPhones. To make up time artistically, we edited using the Fincher technique. The film was done in conjunction with DarkHorse Benefits, a 501(c)(3) that specializes in helping veterans transition to second careers.

Brilliant Filmmaking

Sean Kinney's Call for Fire is a very well crafted smart film. Mr. Kinney's choice to build a story line around Rosencrantz and Guildenstern (Hamlet) is brilliant filmmaking. Call of Fire is sharp-well casted-and finds a way to stay with you long after you exit the theatre. -Oaxaca FilmFest

FIRSTS & ACCOMPLISHMENTS: From their research, this film appears to be the first time a Choctaw filmmaker has made a narrative feature. The first film made by and about Air Force Special Operations. The only Rosencrantz & Guildenstern adaptation made by actual soldiers.

Crazy credits
On the second card of the post production section, Sean Kinney was given over 155 post production credits. Since this was a micro budget that helped a charity train Veterans for second careers, he had to take on all these jobs to ensure the efforts the Veterans contributed would be seen.
