The script was inspired by the following poems:
Na cidade onde Envelheço - António Reis;
The City - Konstantinos Kavafis;
Belo Horizonte - Ana Martins Marques.
Crew spent a long period shooting conversations between portuguese girls talking about the difference Brazil x Portugal. The conversations were used to develop the characters and the dialogs.
Scenes recorded at Francisca's house were improvised and shot with only one camera. Takes were so different but worth of using that the crew spent several hours composing it.
There was a prologue sequence, shot in Salvador, in that Teresa reads a letter sent by her mother. It was discarded during post-production.
