The quote Oliver recites at the end of the movie is from an old Scottish folk song. "The water is wide I cannot cross over, and neither have I the wings to fly. Give us a boat that can carry two, and both shall row my love and I."
Crystal Lowe (Rita) was very pregnant while filming this movie.
Between this movie and the last one, The Impossible Dream, is the longest gap in the story time line of all of the movies. In the last movie it was July (Liberty's birthday was July 22) and this one takes place the next year around Valentine's Day. When Oliver refers to his "long promised dinner" with Shane it had been almost 6 months since he first asked her out while they were in Washington DC.
