Shaofeng Feng fractured his thoracic vertebrae on ship when going through the rough water in the Penghu Islands. The fracture required four months to heal, but Feng and his manager decided to conceal the news and came back to work in two weeks. He rested and sat after every take as possible.
Shaofeng Feng suggests that to act underwater is significantly different from to use CG. He and Bea Hayden Kuo shoot most of their underwater scenes in person to capture the realistic state of underwater acting.
