Savannah Sunrise

This is a soft, gentle film. The main reason I watched it was to see Pamela Reed and Shawnee Smith, two talented and fine actresses. They mesh well together in this family centered story about a recently widowed senior citizen (Pamela Reed) moving on the the next phase of her life; widowhood and advanced age. Accompanying her on the road trip to her "independant living facility, is her daughter-in-law (Shawnee Smith). Antics ensue. It might be a bit slow and gentle for some, but I enjoyed the multi-generational family dynamic. Plus I'm partial to road trip movies. The writing could have been better; given the actors something to work with.

I thought this was a great great film and the two primary female actors were positively incredible. They aced it. Perfect everything, perfect facial expressions and body language, it was a perfect connection between the two of them. Perfect, perfect. The husband was awesome, too. I truly appreciated everything about the film. Kudos to everyone involved. I know there is a crew behind the scenes who help make the magic happen. Thank you to all.

I had hoped, as the description indicates, this would be a moving family film with an inspiring message central to a family road trip (e.g. exploring the mother-daughter dynamic)...and it did!

Though it fell light on content, I did "feel" something--anger, humor, relief.

What pleased me most was that a captivating film was made devoid of sexual encounters, obscene language and offensive gimmicks to lure viewers. An enjoyable movie can be made without those features! Bravo!

A lovely film dealing gently with ageing. Moments of brilliant humour abounded, and sorry the film had to end.

Pamela Reed as Loraine played her part beautifully, and just shows how the more mature actors/actresses who have learned their craft over decades, are ultimately more watchable than some of the younger actors/actresses at Hallmark who squeal and screech their way through their characterisations. Watch and learn you younger ones, watch and learn.

I really enjoyed this film. It has all the elements of wholesomeness that I look for in a film. A good story, funny moments, and wonderful relationship coaching.

I was especially impressed by the character development and the depth of the performances. Not only was the film entertaining, but it left me with thoughtful takeaways to ponder. Definitely a must-watch for anyone seeking a heartwarming and insightful cinematic experience.

Additionally, the film's attention to detail in both setting and dialogue made it feel authentic and relatable. From start to finish, this film is a testament to the art of storytelling and a shining example of cinematic excellence. Highly recommended for those who cherish films that touch the heart and stimulate the mind.
