Nathan Lupo was originally cast as the main character but, as Brian Ramsey. After a few screen tests, Thomas cast Caleb Smith in the role and Nathan Lupo's character was moved into a supporting character.

Caleb Smith did some uncredited rewrites for his character in episodes 1 & 3. In the second half of the season he was brought on to help co-write the scripts for episodes 4, 5 & 6. He also serves as the music composer for the entire show.
Nathan Young composed the opening score for Episode 3: Marked Path.
Had to re-cast for two main roles due to scheduling conflicts.
