The São Paulo roots of the film show in the construction of a plot based on an old legend. In the original story, a rich girl of a religious family disobeys her parents and goes to a carnival fiesta in the middle of a Good Friday. Attracted by a young man who invites her to dance during the party, the girl is surprised when at midnight he takes off his hat and shows the Devil's horns in person.
