Electric Dreams (2017)

Trivia

Electric Dreams

Edit
"Electric Dreams" is a reference to PKD's novel that inspired "Blade Runner" titled "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?"
Nine of the ten stories adapted for season 1 were written by Philip K. Dick in a 14-month period from November of 1952 to the end of 1953. (The exception, "Autofac," is from October 1954.) Among the other 30 stories written and published by Dick in these 14 months are the sources for the films The Adjustment Bureau (2011), Impostor (2001), and Next (2007), and short versions of three novels, Vulcan's Hammer, Dr. Futurity, and The Cosmic Puppets.
Channel 4 commissioned considerably more episodes than they did with their other anthology series 'Black Mirror' after losing it to Netflix and missing out on several million pounds. They clearly do not want to make the same mistake.
Amazon Prime released the series in alternate order:
  • 1. Real Life (2017);
  • 2. Autofac (2018);
  • 3. Human Is (2017);
  • 4. Crazy Diamond (2017);
  • 5. The Hood Maker (2017);
  • 6. Safe and Sound (2018);
  • 7. The Father Thing (2018);
  • 8. Impossible Planet (2017);
  • 9. The Commuter (2017);
  • 10. Kill All Others (2018).
Glenn Runciter High School in Episode 6 references the character of the same name in PKD's Ubik.
