The Regional Hospital of Iquitos was used as a major film location for the movie. The enormous size of the hospital facilitated the production team creative work to stage its hallways.
The film is inspired significantly in the mythical forest creature called Tunche Maligno, an entity from Amazonian folklore. Many elements attributes associated with this creature have been used to reincarnate it in the film.
The film requires a lot of physical demand from the actresses. The film requires a lot of physical demand from the actresses. Besides its performance scenes, filming schedules were intense. Since the scenes takes place mostly at night, it was due to shoot up in the small hours.
It is the first film company run by co-directors, none of them being Dorian Fernández-Moris, the key director of the previous film.
The official film poster was designed by Percy Meza-Bravo, while the photo used in the artwork was made by Enrique Pezo. Dorian Fernández Moris, the executive producer of the film, directed the art process. In the workflow, three preliminary posters was designed by Meza. The final poster was elected in the public opinion poll.
