Trivia

Chikara: Phone Home

Edit
Featured the first round of the CHIKARA 2016 Tag World Grand Prix tournament. The matches were The Colony (Fire Ant and Worker Ant (Nelson Ortiz)) defeating The United Nations (The Proletariat Boar of Moldova and Prakash Sabar); The Devastation Corporation (Blaster McMassive (Thomas Stintsman) and Flex Rumblecrunch (Sean Burke)) defeating The Punk Rock All Stars (Shaun Cannon and Drake Carter); and Los Ice Creams (Ice Cream Jr. and El Hijo del Ice Cream) defeating Team Sea Stars (Ashley Vox and Delmi Exo)
There were two singles matches. The first was Juan Francisco de Coronado (Joe Padilla) defeating Officer Warren Barksdale. The second was Icarus (Ronald Grams) defeating Wani (Ian Sison).
After the opening match, the Colony defeating the United Nations, CHIKARA Director of Fun Mike Quackenbush (Mike Spillane) walked to the ring with a cane. He cut a promo responding to Johnny Kidd's challenge to Quack to face him in Kidd's retirement match. Quackenbush talked about their history in both CHIKARA and in the Westside Xtreme Wrestling promotion in Germany. Quackenbush said that his doctor had cleared him to wrestle for one night only, as Quack had not been in a match since "The Shoulders of Pallas" on April 6, 2013 due to a leg injury. Quackenbush accepted the challenge for a World of Sport Rules match, meaning six three-minute rounds, requiring two pinfalls, two submissions or a knockout in order to win. The match would be held at "CHIKARA Aniversario: The Chamber of Secrets" in London, England on May 28, 2016 and ultimately ended in a draw.
