Joey Folsom is incorrectly listed as an uncredited writer, despite having no involvement in the film. Folsom and director Mitch McLeod previously co-wrote the feature film ARC: A Love Story, which McLeod ultimately directed. They have since had a personal falling out, and Folsom has attempted to take partial credit for both Birthday Girl and McLeod's feature film Silhouette.
