The film divides a linear story over two days into three blocks, each with a different photographic treatment, with a different aspect ratio (4:3, 2.35:1, 1.85:1), different editing and a different sound treatment. The changes in aspect ratio happen gradually frame to frame, so the audience hardly notices. The entire film was shot with one focal length, 50 mm, and with one diaphragm, f:2.8.
