To be fair I wasn't able to watch the whole movie till the end, I wasn't expecting much at first but 30 minutes into the movie I found it to be an interesting view of a normal teenager with all the normal insecurities, family trouble and vices.
What stopped me from watching it till the end is the horrible sound that you can't even understand what they are saying (me having Spanish as a first language) and the unnecessary long and boring scenes.

I loved the color in this film, and how Lina Rodriguez used depth of field blur while immersing us into the life of this young woman in Bogotá. Unfortunately, there isn't much of a story here, and she regularly extends shots far longer than necessary. Seven and a half minutes are spent, for example, following her main character walking in heels at night. There is certainly a point to the scene, evidenced in the underlying apprehension of hearing a stray whistle and the acceleration of her pace, but the long take, coming on the heels of many other long takes, diminished its effectiveness. We get flashes of potential in the mother confiding in her about her own coming of age and her "hot pants" parties, or the conversations with the young man about what he would do if she got pregnant, but they don't manifest themselves into something compelling because the story is so flat and lacking in escalation. Even after spending several minutes on an apparently random sampling of situations in the young woman's life, when scene transitions finally occur, they sometimes seem at odd places in conversations. Overall, interesting subject matter, nice cinematography, weak script, lethargic pace, and poor editing add up to being a film I wouldn't recommend.
