The Snow Maiden. A New Version (1969)

Trivia

The Snow Maiden. A New Version

Edit
The text behind the scenes is read by the famous Soviet actor Aleksey Gribov, he is not listed in the credits, but it is impossible not to recognize him by his characteristic voice.
In the 1990s, the animation was duplicated in the US by the American company Jove, entitled The Snow Girl. In 1999, it was released by the same company with Spanish, French and English subtitles, and in 5 years, in 2004, its updated DVD versions appeared in wide sale.
This is not the only screen version of this Russian folk tale, created by director Vladimir Degtyarev. Earlier in 1957, the animation "The Tale of the Snow Maiden" was made, featuring a puppet technique of execution. In fact, the animation film "Snegurka" is a hand-painted remake of that one.
The animation film was repeatedly reissued on DVD in cartoons: "When the Christmas trees are lit" (Soyuzmultfilm, distributor Soyuz), "New Year's Eve Holiday" (distributor "Close-up"), "Winter-Winter" (Soyuzmultfilm, distributor "Soyuz").
