The movie is so-so, but the sound mixing is terrible! The actors mutter almost inaudibly, so you have to turn up the volume, then music or a sound will blast through so loud that your eardrums rupture. Possibly the worst sound mixing on a film that I have ever heard, and I have heard some really bad ones! Inexcusable!

Honestly, the movie was... okay.
It definitely wasn't good. But at the same time I've seen FAR worse.
The movie has some decent acting as well as some cringe worthy moments. Some of the plot points are okay, while others are naturally just stupid. Some characters sometimes do smart things, other times they're drooling morons.
Honestly it's the usual mix of low budget horror movie nonsense. It's an acceptable waste of time for an evening, but not something to go seeking out.

It wasn't bad but it wasn't awesome either. But watchable. Unexpected ending too which is cool.

Sometimes you come across a movie that keeps you in suspense for the entire duration. This is not one of those. Unlike most horror plots this could be one of best written, with twists and turns that keeps you wondering, it just really isn't though. What this is, is one of those hedgehogs that lie splattered at the side of the road noone even notices. But atleast the so called producer has a lot of friends to give it good reviews.

OK - i very rarely write reviews if i Foundation the movie bad. But this one;
Hopeless..
The acting is so horrible, I just can't see through that. It takes a bad director AND a bad cast to take it this far down.

I sat down to watch this 2019 horror movie because of two reasons. The first and most important reason was because Barbara Crampton was in it, and the second being that it was a horror movie.
Now, much to my disappointment, Barbara Crampton wasn't really all that much in the movie, and I believe she was listed on the cover solely to lure in the audience, us horror fans familiar with her cult standing. She was only briefly in the movie, so don't get suckered in by this. Some of us did, so you don't have to.
As for it being a horror movie, well... I'd say it was more of a thriller than it was a horror movie, because it wasn't scary. The thriller aspect was more dominant as there was something psychological underlaying the tone of the movie and also it had a supernatural feel to it. So don't sit down to watch "Stay Out Stay Alive" with the impression of it being a scary horror movie, because it isn't.
And that leaves me with the impression of the movie. The movie certainly did have some interesting enough moments to it, but it was mostly weighed down by a trivial plot and storyline, and also by the fact that it wasn't really all that interesting actually. The movie quickly grew stale and mundane, and you just sort of sit there in a state of stupor as the storyline trots on.
I am rating "Stay Out Stay Alive" a four out of ten stars rating because of the production value it had, and also because it seemed like an ambitious project with the heart and spirit in the right place. Just a shame that the storyline was less than mediocre, and the fact that Barbara Crampton was hardly in the movie. Oh, and the fact that this wasn't a scary horror movie after all.
"Stay Out Stay Alive" is entertaining enough for a single viewing, if you have nothing better on the agenda. But beware, this is by no means a cinematic gem or masterpiece. And the movie came without a bang, and it will slowly fade into oblivion without a bang. This is not a movie that I will be returning to watch a second time.

Not fantastic but certainly not nearly as bad as some of the reviews. Could be believable seeing people so blinded with greed to let their emotions take over. Plot was interesting and kept my attention. Acting was about even with your typical horror/slasher flicks, no academy awards but definitly watchable and by no means subpar. The ranger was probably the worst actor in the film as she overdid the creepy act so much that she just came off as weird like something was wrong with her.

Only at the end the movie builts up some tension. Over all the movie is not very interesting, the actors are not very convincing and there is just not enough horror.
To give this movie five stars or more is an act of mercy.
Don't waste your time on this one.

I went to see this movie in "Another Hole in the Head' film festival. My thoughts were that it would be a typical horror film which it was not. It has some great visual effects and also the director describing how the set was built for this movie was quite interesting. The music was great and you get really scared while watching this film.
Don't get all the 1 reviews it wasn't a bad movie about greed amongst friends and what it can do and no ive got nothing to do with whoever made the movie there are much worse films around for sure
This is legitimately one of the worst movies I've seen in my life. I've never watched a movie that was so poor, I actually felt like throwing up. The acting and music are atrocious. I created an IMDb account specifically to write this review. Save time, go to sleep instead.

Everything is poor in this film. It is not just that it is amateurish and low budget. There are good low-budget films, if the director has any skill.
Here there is not one original idea.
Special mention for the awful acting of the male main character.

Created an account just for the review... it's that poor. Maybe a teen audience from the 80's would have made it through watching
Filming wasn't too bad but the acting was poor and the directing/writing was amateur. Sound was all over the place
C'mon. Fake reviews are so obvious. Recently created reviewer accounts and not to mention the finely crafted reviews they all posted. No typos, impeccable grammar/spelling - average people usually aren't that meticulous

Do yourself a favour and take note of the writer/director and put them on your do not watch list.
This film is absolute rubbish. The fake ratings are destroying this site.

Some really annoying characters in this movie and a lot of repetitive screaming make it just barely over unbearable. Not real deep on content.
Can't really give it more than a 3.

I've watched a lot a bad horror flics and I thought this one would be one more in that lot. So I've watched it thinking that when it became unbearable I would stop wachting it. But interestingly enough I survived until the end. Sure, some of the characters are bad written and some of the effects are naive (even unnecessary), but the premise is alright (An homage to Treasure of Sierra Madre) and it has some good moments. One thing that bothered me a lot: there's no need to repeat so many times the Indian curse. It was very clear since the epilogue.

This movie reminded me a little of "The Ruins" which could be a little corny but still suspenseful to watch. I don't mind if some things may not be perfect or seem silly, it was still a film I was glued to like the Ruins. I love movies like this personally.
The first 30 minutes is a slow burn. If you can make through that, it's worth it. No more than the budget allowed they did a pretty good job acting. In my opinion. Especially the ending.

A bit cheeky saying its a true story, anything to get you too watch. even kids wouldn't be scared by this. the acting was bad particulary the rangers. continuity was off in a couple of places. how many teenagers would be wandering around in the pitch black in the woods. nope dont waste your time with this one , its enough that i wasted mine!

Like many others, this movie inspired me....
It inspired me to make an account just to give it a one star review.
