As an umbrella was a required prop for this film's entry into the 30 Day Monster Film Challenge, Mr. Hyde VIII (as a robot, also a required element) murdered Carew with an umbrella. His line "Tut, tut. It looks like rain." is of course, a tribute to Winnie the Pooh. This was often said by screenwriter, Robert J. Smith to his three children when they were young and rain was impending.
The characters of Lana and Ingrid are named for Lana Turner and Ingrid Bergman who each appeared in Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1941).
