Faran Tahir worked for 3 days on the film. The producers rearranged the shooting schedule to accommodate Faran's busy schedule.
Faran Tahir would go on to work on 12 Monkeys (2015) alongside Todd Stashwick. Todd Stashwick also appeared opposite J. Anthony McCarthy as Boris in the web series the movie is loosely based on.
The movie is written by real life husband and wife team DP Kronmiller and Jennifer Emily McLean. Kronmiller and McLean met in an acting class across the street from where they had the world premiere of Boris and the Bomb at the Valley Film Festival.
The film's structure is partially based on Midnight Run (1988) . But instead of Charles Grodin in Midnight Run there's a bomb and Boris - and instead of Robert DeNiro, there's Jimmy the Yuber driver.
There are over 230 visual FX shots in the film including the face of the Bomb itself, which is a CG element. The bomb plate was created by Visual FX supervisor and also one of the stars of the movie Jason Young who plays Kale in the film.
