Movie title "Hirugao" is derived from a relatively new Japanese expression "Heijitsu Hirugao Tsuma" which refers to housewives having afternoon affairs while their husband's are working. The expression "Heijitsu Hirugao Tsuma" is derived from the French film "Belle de Jour" which is itself based on the 1928 novel "Belle de Jour " by Joseph Kessel.

Don't waste your time. Original series was great, the movie was hideous.

The story is horribly written. The directing sucked. Over two hours long with ridiculous, plodding character development

I loved the original series "Love Affairs in the Afternoon" it was tightly written and had an interesting story. A bit of a trashy indulgence, but it was fun and somewhat deep. The series was interesting in that it allowed each character to display their reaction to the situation. The movie was just a money grab. Mechanical, unoriginal, SLOW, stupid plot, and badly directed. I was waiting for it to end. .
