The concept of the film was made in 2012 but due to some production issues it got delayed and director Vikram Aditya Motwane finally made it in 2018.
Vikramaditya Motwane initially prepared the entire draft of the movie in English. Anurag Kashyap took this English draft and wrote the Hindi dialogues as he has a better command over the Hindi language. Anurag Kashyap also helped a lot with the screenplay of this movie.
The film tanked at the box office upon release only to later find a cult following after it become available on the internet and streaming platforms
The training montage was shot in order. Harshvardhan actually started training at that time and went through the rigorous routine.
