The opening of this episode is a shot-for-shot remake of the opening from Days Gone Bye (2010) (S1.E1), only instead of seeing Rick (Andrew Lincoln) patrolling by himself, it shows Carl (Chandler Riggs) patrolling by himself.
This episode is dedicated to George A. Romero and John Bernecker. Romero for being one of the first pioneers and writers of modern zombie and horror stories and movies. Bernecker, a veteran stunt performer, died after a fall on a concrete floor in July 2017.
