What separates "Kindred Spirits" from the rash of other paranormal shows is their concentration less on the personalities of the investigators and more on the personalities and histories of the entities involved, along with their connections to the residents or caretakers of the establishments. This results in much more emotionally taut and effective "stories", instead of just cases.
