In her second assignment to direct a Gay (boy/boy sex) video, Dana Vespoli takes on the theme of dominant older men with dramatic flair. This title for Mile High's Nica Noelle-headed Icon Male label coincidentally uses the same title, "Authority Figures", that Nica applied to her 2012 video feature for Hard Candy Films, a boy/girl label she briefly piloted after splitting from Mile High's Sweet Sinner and Sweetheart banners.
The four vignettes cover a range of material, starting off with a fine performance by the talented Rodney Steele, star of Nica's "Lolita"-inspired "Baby Boy". This time he's going after young Kory Houston in a coach/runner unholy liaison.
Max Sargent portrays a famous acting coach, saddled with the task of teaching a handsome, if vertically-challenged, soap star (Armond Rizzo, the Willie Shoemaker of porn) rudimentary acting technique. This leads to sex between them, but the scene's highlight is director Vespoli's cameo as Max's assistant. The longing in her eyes as the great man ignores her speaks volumes, and gives some depth to these oh-so-artificial vignettes revolving around the need for manly sex between manly men.
Icon Male's #1 Bear Adam Russo gives sage advice to aspiring, wet-behind-the-ears model Kyler Ash, before putting the make on the kid. Equally perceptive is a segment in which lawyer Damon Andros sets pop star in jail Brandon Wilde straight (no put intended) with some tough love.
Dana is able to express herself vicariously in this all-male idiom, and it augurs well for her own brand of outrageous sex films involving women.
