Long scenes of poor expedition planning decisions and foul ups. Then they go to commercial. When they come back, they spend half the next session recapping the last session's nonsense. When they finally get down to dredging, they recover a few small colors and act like they are a big success. The recovered enough to buy a cup of coffee. They could have done better gold panning at a local state park beach.

Here is the big fraud giveaway: In one of their narrated animations explaining how gold is naturally deposited in rivers, they incorrectly depict and explain that gold is deposited on outside bends by means of centrifugal force. Are you kidding me?! Do a youtube search producers! Gold falls from suspension on INSIDE bends due to low pressure. High velocity flows (outside bends) flush heavy material to the next low pressure zone.

In the end, it is just another "reality TV" show, not based in any reality. A made up adventure for those who will never leave the comfort of the sofa.

It's great to see nature and its riches up close! A very hard journey to undertake for for this team of prospectors/miners.. ininhabilte surroundings.. Cross that can eat you alive and make sure mining for gold can take WAY longer that you would like. Absolutely beautiful scenery. Also a great story as the crew has to to find they're way to talk to the locals to continue mining. A must see for me.. I'm hoping for new episodes in the future...

I have painfully sat through the episodes wishing my body would self collapse and die... Some the worst mining in the known planet, the island chiefs must be wetting themselves with laughter, let's get somw fools to come to our river and clear the trees.

On the bright side I am now hiring myself out to the team as the resident river shark expert for the next series, as they seem to take anyone with no experience and made up qualifications.

On the plus side... Oops there are none.. The long recaps after each advert break are a drain on my lifespan the little gold they have found to date could quite possibly be rust from the nothingness that takes place.

If you have got this far then you must be a true fan of hating the show as much as me.

How many more 'Reality' show are going to be made giving viewers a completely and utterly false truth.

The stories are based on the the same premise of dozens of other 'reality' shows; someone is going bankrupt; someone is going to go out of business; the participants are running out of time; the budget is spent. In truth the only budget is to produce a show which depicts 'reality' but does not bear any semblance to the story line.

Characters are just that 'characters' created to give a sense of expertise and bear little resemblance to the people playing the roles.

Incidents which are portrayed as life threatening and nothing more than re-enactments of possible scenarios but acted out under controlled conditions - either that or the Director has a sixth sense to have enough cameras in the right positions every minute of the day...... Show has been running so long 'under pressure of bankruptcy' that several fortunes could have been made if the participants got jobs in McDonalds in the time frame.
