Quadrant: Full Moon’s first Pulp Noir movie has been given a black & white release

Earlier this year, Full Moon founder Charles Band announced that his company was launching a new production label called Pulp Noir, which will focus on “edgier, weirder, darker horror and dark fantasy films.” They also set up a Patreon account where fans can subscribe and show their support for the company while getting a behind-the-scenes look at the making of these films. The first movie in the Pulp Noir line, a female serial killer story called Quadrant, was given a Blu-ray, DVD, limited edition VHS, and streaming release on August 23rd… and now, on September 20th, a black & white “noir version” of Quadrant is set to start streaming on Full Moon Features and Prime Video. Update: The noir version of Quadrant has now been released! A black and white trailer can be seen in the embed above.

Mindhunter Star Among 8 Cast Members Added to Nicolas Cage's Spider-Man Noir Series

Eight actors were announced as recurring cast members for the upcoming Nicolas Cage-led Spider-Noir, although details on their specific characters were not released.

Per Deadline, Lukas Haas, Cameron Britton, Cary Christopher (Days of Our Lives), Michael Kostroff, Scott MacArthur (The Righteous Gemstones)p, Joe Massingill (Barry), Whitney Rice and Amanda Schull, have all joined the cast of the MGM+ and Prime Video live-action series based on the Spider-Man Noir comic from Marvel.

Actor Brendan Gleeson (Harry Potter) will portray the main villain in the series, starring Cage as Spider-Man Noir and recent Emmy Award winner Lamorne Morris as Robbie Robertson. Li Jun Li will play a New York nightclub singer and Abraham Popoola a World War I veteran. Earlier this month, it was announced Jack Huston (Mayfair Witches) was joining the cast of the highly-anticipated series.

Spider-Man Noir Series at Amazon Adds Eight Recurring Cast Members

The “Spider-Noir” series at Amazon has added eight recurring cast members, Variety has learned.

The series, which is the first live-action project to feature the character Spider-Man Noir, has cast: Lukas Haas, Cameron Britton, Cary Christopher, Michael Kostroff, Scott MacArthur, Joe Massingill, Whitney Rice, and Amanda Schull. Exact character details are being kept under wraps.

The new additions join series lead Nicolas Cage as well as fellow cast members Lamorne Morris, Brendan Gleeson, Abraham Popoola, Li Jun Li and Jack Huston. As previously reported, the show will debut domestically on MGM+’s linear channel and then globally on Amazon Prime Video.

Per the official logline, the show “tells the story of an aging and down on his luck private investigator (Cage) in 1930s New York, who is forced to grapple with his past life as the city’s one and only superhero.”

But before we reach that date, Full Moon will be releasing a special called Quadrant: The Joe Bob Briggs Screening on August 22nd!

The announcement lets us know, “Full Moon Features will be Exclusively premiering a very special Quadrant special feature on Thursday, August 22nd.

Spider-Noir star Lamorne Morris is excited about the upcoming series and thinks fans should be as well. Morris is best known for playing the role of Winston Bishop on the hit series New Girl from 2011 to 2018, but he has also appeared in films like Game Night and Jumanji: The Next Level and will next be seen playing comedian Garrett Morris in the upcoming film, Saturday Night. ‘Queen of the South’s’ Alice Braga, ‘3%’s’ Bianca Comparato Launch South With Gabriela Amaral Almeida’s ‘She, Crocodile’ (Exclusive)

Brazilian actors Alice Braga (“Queen of the South”) and Bianca Comparato (“3%”) have joined forces to launch South, a new production label based out of Los Angeles, New York and São Paulo. The company was established with financial support from Flagcx, the largest independent creative services holding company in Latin America.

South will debut its first feature project, Gabriela Amaral Almeida’s body-horror story “She, Crocodile,” at this year’s 12th edition of the San Sebastian Europe-Latin America Co-Production Forum, which will take place from Sept. 25 -27.

Described by the producers as a “horror fable,” “She, Crocodile” is the story of a young woman, the sole heiress to a luxury real estate brokerage in Rio de Janeiro, who slowly transforms into one of the titular reptiles. As a project, it received backing from the MacDowell Institute Residency program where Amaral wrote a full-50 page treatment.
