Firebringer (2016)

Trivia

Firebringer

Edit
This is the first StarKid musical to feature women in leading roles, as well as the first to be directed, composed, and written at least in part by women.
This is the Musical where the famous vine "I don't really wanna do the work today, I don't really wanna do the work today, I don't really wanna do the work today, I don't wanna do the work today." Came from
There's a Running Gag on social media and the Firebringer DVD commentary about how Meredith Stepien was the second choice to play Jemilla, and only got cast because the original Jemilla (fellow Chicago-area comedian Dan Strauss) never showed up to a single rehearsal. In reality, the musical was built around Meredith Stepien.
The part of "Sweaty Balls" was supposed to be a mute, but actor Brian Holden ad-libbed a character that was based on Vin Diesel in the Fast and Furious films.
Much of the play is based on archaeological understanding of prehistory including: Interspecies sex between homo sapiens and Neanderthals; humans living in egalitarian polymerize societies; humans learning early to burn down forests; humans wearing bones and shells; and clothing being constructed from scavenged meet carcass before humans perfected hunting.
