FAQ

Downton Abbey

FAQ

    YES! Finish the series first!

No. Honestly, the entire plot of the movie won't make sense without the context watching the series. However, seeing the TV show first will clear up any questions as to the characters and their (sometimes strained) relationships with each other. There is little time given to exposition to the characters in the film, because they rely on pre-existing knowledge from the TV series. And this film has a lot of characters.

Isobel Crawley married Richard "Dickie" Grey, Lord Merton. She would be Lady Merton with the name of Isobel Grey, unless he gave up his title.
