Alex Lutz and Thomas Solivérès in Spirou & Fantasio's Big Adventures (2018)

Trivia

Spirou & Fantasio's Big Adventures

Edit
The film is not based on specific story from the comic books and instead draws various elements from several stories.
The film received its own comic book adaptation, titled "Le Triomphe de Zorglub" ("Zorglub's Triumph"), written by Olivier Bocquet and drawn by Brice Cossu & Alexis Sentenac. The book is not a straight adaptation however and instead focuses on the titular characters visiting the set of their film adaptation.
Initially set for release in France on June 20th 2018 by Metropolitan Filmexport, the distributor changed to Sony Pictures who moved the date up four months to February 21st. Despite this date taking advantage of the February school holidays, the film was a massive commercial disappointment, with only 237,000 tickets sold.
Géraldine Nakache previously starred in HOUBA! On the Trail of the Marsupilami (2012). The comic books the two films are adapted from are set in the same universe.
When the project was first announced in November 2013, Mathieu Oullion and Cécile Sellam were writing the film.
