I have thoroughly enjoyed Avsar, it is an usual movie from India and when compared to the high campy drama lgbt+ films from India, this movie is a visual treat, and the songs are wonderful. Often, I found myself singing the songs once I had seen the movie.
The movie tackles day-to-day issues surrounding the life of a gay man, and at many levels, I was able to relate to the different characters in the film and to the different stages of my life.
What I was appalled by the sensitivities of the characters in the movie. Each character has been distinctly woven in this film, and together they pull out an interesting fabric that is not yet seen in any other Indian lgbt+ cinema from India.
