After a delay in shooting, Paresh Rawal quit the film due to schedule conflicts, as he became BJP MP (Member of Parliament) in the Lok Sabha. He was replaced by Rishi Kapoor.
Rishi Kapoor plays 75-year-old son of 102-year-old Amitabh Bachchan, in reality Kapoor was 65 and Bachchan was 75 when the film was released in May 2018. Sadly, Rishi Kapoor never reached 75 years, as he passed away of cancer in 2020 at the age of 67.
In the film, Amitabh Bachchan is shown 102 years old and Rishi Kapoor is shown 75 years old, age difference between the two being that of 27 years. 27 years is also the period after which Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor are reuniting on-screen. 27 years previously they stared in Ajooba 1991. In the time in between, they both made a cameo appearance in the party scene for Om Shanti Om 2007 and both acted in Delhi 6 2009 but did not have any scenes together.
