"Hung Up" remains one of the best-selling singles of all time, with sales of over nine million copies worldwide.
Originally the video for "Hung Up" was to be directed by photographer David LaChapelle. He wanted the video to have a "documentary"-style look, much like that of his film Rize (2005), in which five of the dancers from the "Hung Up" video appeared.
