Street Lights

6/10

An average movie with a few good scenes

After I saw Mamoothy in the posters of street light I was really curious to watch the movie. I thought it would have been a great thriller. The opening shot was good and a few comical dialogues made me laugh. The love portion between Remya and Subin was good until climax. Most of the scenes are predictable looks like the director wants a touching end to the movie which made me think that spoiled the movie's narration. Overall an average movie with weak story.

Dim Lights - Review 03

Streetlights is the first directional venture of shamdat (a very well known cinematographer). The story revolves around the crime branch officer , three thieves and a child. Soubins acting is appreciable especially in the romantic sequences. It is very interesting that how these stories are connected together . Some of the suspenses are really predictable. Mommoty had nothing much to do. The romantic song of soubin and lijomol was very good and the background music was perfect for the flow of the story. Cinematography is done by Sadat . This movie is overall a watchable thriller with a few suspenses .

A more than satisfying debut from Shamdat ; shines in certain areas.

Streetlights is the first directorial venture for Shamdat Sainudeen, who is more known as a renowned cinematographer. For a film that could have succeeded in making a great story from what it introduced from the very first shot, Street lights fails big time. It was predictable. the transitions from shot to shot was messy and the audience may as well be confused as to what was the story. But amidst all these, Street lights is a breathe of fresh air in Malayalam cinema. An interesting, realistic approach to what many, seldom directors would have made into a short film or nothing. It follows the theme where a necklace is stolen and what that stolen necklace binds together different people from different areas of life. All the performances were great, Mammootty was probably cast to get the marketing attention and all the great acting moments in the film were from stunt Silva. Street lights is more than just your average crime thriller. It is exciting, comedic, has a great soundtrack and more importantly, it is original.

7.1 / 10 :)

Not a bad movie at all...

If you are an ardent fan of Mammotty and want to see a full-fledge Mammotty starrer movie, then "Street Lights" would be a very bad bad choice. Because, this movie is not fully centered on Mammoty, instead he is just playing a part in it. Overall, a decent movie and a better movie in recent times.

One-Line Review: Street Lights (3 Stars)

There are a lot of ridiculous story arcs that come together to form Shamdat Sainudeen's Street Lights - in the most haphazard way possible - but what tops everything - even all the glamour and useless charismatic slo-mos - is how the makers try to justify a wrong committed by a character by reading out the victim's criminal record, followed by a stupid closing description of charity. TN.

Good actors, terrible acting

Dead boring with an uninteresting screenplay. The acting looked so uninspired even from Mammooty.

I wonder how this movie got a 6.7 rating.

Didn't even bother to complete the movie after watching the initial hour.

Very good

This movie is a simple but powerful movie. It evolves around a necklace which was stolen. This movie has no mass. It is very interesting that how these stories are connected together
