Bad Genius is the first ever film from an ASEAN nation to open the New York Asian Film Festival.
Bad Genius's original name is '2B COME WON' which means the mission completed by 2B pencil and also can read as 'To Become One'. In the scene Pat speaks on the stage and persuades people to join in cheating program, the project is noticeably named '2B COME WON'
The 'Steve Pat' scene where he persuades other students to join his cheating project is inspired by Steve Jobs (2015) and The Wolf of Wall Street (2013).
The chemistry underlying Lynn and Bank's relationship was unscripted. In fact,in the interview for the film in NYC, director Baz Poonpiriya said that it was his intention to not involved the two main characters in a romantic relationship, yet told Chutimon Chuengcharoensukying and Chanon Santinatornkul to develop their chemistry anyways.
