Mystery horror thriller with interesting twist.

Initially, I found the film to be very cliched, and pretty much another haunted house movie that doesn't offer anything new, but everything changed in the last 20 minutes with a very interesting twist.

The film is told in two timelines, jumping back and forth between them, but it gets a bit confusing when the timelines meet. Very interesting concept, but films of this genre generally raises a number of questions and credibility issues - similar to 'The Others'. (I did find this to be a combination of 'The Others' and 'The Amityville Horror'. The film does have some really scary moments with some great visuals and make-up.

What Would You Do?

While I'm still a bit confused about a couple of things, I really enjoyed this. It seems to me that this was all about time and the choices that we have to make. It wasn't scary but it did stir up emotion. This is a fairly slow paced movie but I liked the way it ended.

A good house type horror movie

"House of the Disappeared" (2017) is a South Korean horror film that delves into the chilling mystery surrounding a seemingly haunted house. The film follows Mi-hee, a woman recently released from prison after being falsely accused of murdering her son. She returns to her old home, a dilapidated house shrouded in an eerie atmosphere, seeking answers and closure.

As Mi-hee explores the house, she encounters unsettling occurrences and disturbing visions. The house seems to hold a dark secret, and Mi-hee becomes increasingly convinced that it's connected to her son's disappearance. The film masterfully builds suspense, utilizing a chilling atmosphere and a series of unsettling events to keep viewers on the edge of their seats.

The narrative unfolds through a series of flashbacks, revealing the tragic events that led to Mi-hee's imprisonment. The film explores themes of guilt, grief, and the supernatural, leaving viewers questioning the nature of reality and the boundaries between the living and the dead.

"House of the Disappeared" is a captivating and suspenseful horror film that offers a chilling exploration of the human psyche and the enduring power of guilt. Its effective use of atmosphere and a well-crafted mystery make it a memorable and unsettling cinematic experience.

Too much

Kim YoonJin is a great actress she can act young and old convincingly. The explanation is just too much to swallow. Should have kept things simpler.

Yet another Great movie from south Korea.

This is yet another Great movie from south Korea. Great Plot, Great twist. Full of emotion and feeling. A little Jump, a little tear. I don't know why South Korean Films tick all the boxes but I'll choose a south Korean movie over any other country any day. This film is a great example of a perfectly polished result.

Mediocre

Not much to say about this one, if you've seen enough Korean horror or horror in general you won't really be surprised by anything, there are a few plot holes but not to the extent where nothing makes sense. The acting is okay. I guess it's in the horror category because there are a few scares but it felt more like a drama/mystery.

I would only recommend it if you really don't have anything better to watch.

Masterpiece

It was mysterious and unpredictable. Touching story. Very good movie and beautiful idea. It was really interesting to watch till the very end. Dramatic and tragic, not really scary but impressive. This movie should get higher ratings. It is really great.

unexpected story

I would like to say the last word first! I never expected where the story took me and it was pleasing, twisted and heart-melting story which made my jaw dropped. I didn't expected the movie was that great at all. Scenario was greatly planned and movie direction got a little bit faster at the 2nd half of the movie. It was 2-hours joy.
