Good Enough

I can't say that I loved it. It was too similar to the original and yet very different. It was like they tried to make it fit into the japanese standerds. And it almost worked. Though the end was a bit out of the blue with the conclusion and they could have fixed that one. Also, I didn't like the couple. Although the performances were really good, however, the couple lucked chemistry. And it was odd how he fall for her so suddenly when he was a playboy. So, 4.5 out of 10.

Is this a case of Asian washing a film?

I rented this because I was slightly interested that it was based on 50 First Dates. But I really couldn't get into this. It felt too much like an Adam Sandler movie without him in it.

I was expecting more of it to be redone but it was just copy/pasted from the original. A lot of the gags were the same, and I haven't seen the original in years but I still remembered. It didn't even feel very typically Japanese because of that. I was hoping they would have made it more Japanese, but it was just the original with Japanese faces.

The only thing about it that felt different was that most of the cast WAS Japanese. I really didn't like the main couple either. They didn't have an sort of chemistry at all. I didn't care about them at all.
