I recommend watching Blade Runner(1982) and The shining(1980), then watching the series again. The lighting help sets a mood for the audience and combined with the music builds up a uneasy sensation and anticipation for what happens next. Also it's a style choice, spies do their work in the shadows and under darkness.
I definitely got that too. I've actually watched this series from when it debuted in the UK and that clipping wasn't there. The episode looked fine during the first half - at least. I'm thinking that maybe something happens after the last commercial break. I think it's best to let Amazon know that there is a problem and maybe they can fix it.
