Hex

Cancel Culture: "Zatanna"
The developing live-action feature showcasing DC Comics 'sorceress' "Zatanna", following a female descendant of the ' Homo Magi' race, has been canceled at Warner Bros. Discovery:

The character of 'Zatanna Zatara' was created by writer Gardner Fox and artist Murphy Anderson, debuting in "Hawkman" vol. 1 #4 (October-November 1964).

She is the daughter of magician 'Giovanni Zatara',  who appeared in (1939) 'Golden Age' comic books...

...and 'Sindella', a member of the mystical 'Homo Magi' race.

She is also a direct descendant of the alchemist 'Nicholas Flamel'...

...and the seer 'Nostradamus'.

Zatanna is a powerful sorceress...

...whose abilities are genetic. As a tribute to her father...

...and as a focal point, she casts spells by speaking verbal commands backwards.

On rare occasions, she has cast spells...

...by writing them in her own blood.

In The CW TV series "Smallville" (2010), the character was played by Serinda Swan in the episodes "Icarus", "Warrior" and "Hex".

‘Hex’ Review
Image
Stars: Kayla Adams, Matthew Holcomb, Chloe Berman, Bryan Roberts, Eric Alperin, Brad Worch II, Schno Mozingo | Written by Hans Rodionoff | Directed by Chris Johnston, Andy Malchiodi

Hex, not to be confused with several other films with the same title, opens with a montage of shots, old illustrations of demons, skydivers performing a risky manoeuvre, and blood being dripped on an altimeter as it’s being assembled. So it’s not a huge surprise when it ends with one of the parachutists falling to their death.

Ten years later Sarah is the new girl at the local skydiving club. Payson has been trying to get her to jump with his team, Lisa, Wade, Evan and Greg.

Why is he so insistent to add her to the crew? He wants to attempt The Hex, the risky and allegedly cursed formation jump we saw go wrong in the opening scenes.

Despite giving a...

'Big Brother 19' Poll: Should Jessica Have Taken Paul's Deal?
Cody Renee Cameron
While Paul's second Big Brother HoH reign was ultimately a wasted week a deal was nearly struck to prevent that fact. Paul told Jessica that if she allowed the house to vote out Cody, she could keep her Halting Hex for another week. Jessica almost took the deal too until she concluded that the other side of the house was too untrustworthy and it was better to stick with her one ally, Cody.

Jessica, however, has been known to act emotionally, not rashly, in Big Brother 19. Since the decision was sparked by another big fight in the house, it might seem like this move is another big emotional mistake by Jessica.

'Big Brother 19' Recap: Paul Wants Jessica to Sacrifice Cody
Kayla Adams and Matthew Holcomb in Hex (2022)
When Paul nominated Cody and Jessica this week on Big Brother 19, it seemed inevitable that the Halting Hex would be used, the eviction would be cancelled and nothing that happens this week would matter. But that doesn't mean nothing happens. This episode has fights, more fight and a whole lot of relationship drama. There's also a new plan from Paul to try and convince Jessica not to use the Hex. Good luck with that.
