The last public hanging in Missouri is rumored to have occurred on the Bridge over the Meramec River in Steelville, MO where Float Trip the movie was filmed. Some people say you can see the ghost of a little girl at night if you are brave enough to cross it after dark.
The movie series Wrong Turn and Deliverance were inspiration for the movie Float Trip being created. Float Trip is the first movie shot entirely on 2 rivers: The Meramec and Huzzah Rivers. Two spear heads were discovered while filming the movie by John Golden on the Huzzah River.
