    Honest and moving

A straightforward look at racism in America and how we got to where we are. Even more interesting when seen through the lens of the BLM protests and marches of 2020. I enjoyed it and learned from it.

    Intimate, authentic and moving

If you're looking for a sweeping documentary that covers race and slavery in America, there are obviously other options. This is one family's story. And it's told quite well. His step father is outstanding. He nails every single take, and his perspective alone makes this worth watching.

    Not Much Has Changed

The title says it all, I would hope all humans would be disgusted by what we saw in this documentary but I know racism still exists and that will never happen. I can't believe that this is still a thing in 2020, so embarrassing!

Perfect balance of personal story and facts

A walk through history that took us from our past of slavery all the way to our present day form of racism; the "color blind society," in which we tell ourselves that we've miraculously moved on from our roots, that racism doesn't exist anymore and how, in doing that, we completely deny the experiences and struggles of black and brown people as well as denying the evidence and facts that are available to everyone though social research.

This documentary was a perfect blend of personal story mixed with evidence and fact.

Black people have been sharing these stories for centuries and it's not getting through to white people. They brush it off as a singular event, an anomaly. It's time for white people to start sharing stories like this with each other. Stories about how they benefited from slavery. White supremacy is a white problem and it's time to stop putting the onus on black people to solve it. I've already recommended this documentary to some of my conservative, white acquaintances.

glad to see the racist trolls have not review bombed this doc yet like the Mike Brown doc

Amazing every single American regardless of race should watch this movie but sadly Gop are passing bills making it illegal to teach about this in schools even tho its not taught till college if you take the class Gop is trying to drive a wedge between poor whites poor blacks poor Asians ect to keep us devided so we cant work together to get the things both want free health care free college 15$ min wage ect.
